Differences in Information Processing Models
Two main differences exist in information processing models. Traditional models follow a linear process where perceptual information is first identified, then a response is selected from memory, and finally the program is executed. This linear model does not allow for revisiting decisions. In contrast, parallel processing models view information processing as an event where the entire information is taken in at once, allowing for a dynamic interaction between perception and action.
