Mutually Assured Financial Destruction in US-China Relations
In a recent lecture, I discussed how the United States and China are facing a new version of the Cold War. Similar to the nuclear standoff in the past, both countries now have mutually assured financial destruction. However, unlike before, the economic systems are too intertwined and fragile for them to engage in a war. This unique situation prevents another world war from occurring.
