• Focus on timelessness by ensuring your work is understandable and interesting even to someone from the past.
• Project yourself backward in time rather than forward to gauge the lasting value of your writing.
• Consider whether your work would have been interesting and relevant to a reader from the past (e.g., 1960s, 1980s).
