Training Diversity in Running

Diversifying your running training by incorporating various types of workouts along the intensity spectrum is crucial. Most training should be easy-paced, with some threshold or tempo work in the middle. It's beneficial to include work at both ends of the spectrum: slow, low mechanical output and fast, high mechanical output. Avoid excessive work in the middle like long reps at VO2 max. Research has shown that long hard intervals might not be the most effective approach for elite athletes.
