Female chimps and benobus are very protective of each other. In captivity is actually better between the genders than it is in wild simpancies. Is because they ter their living together, and the females help each other against overly aggressive males. Does it go so far into what would think of as altruism? I mean, orea primates really sacrificing their own well being for the well being of others or the tribe? They will, they will do.
