Optimal uses of tigecycline and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole
Higher doses of tigecycline, particularly in severe C. diff infections, can be effective as it can target C. diff specifically without worsening the condition. Tigecycline might also be valuable in treating highly resistant bacteria. Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole has a broad spectrum covering group A and group B streptococci, MSSA, and 90% of MRSA.
