The Possibility of Artificial General Intelligence
There is no theory of everything in science./nEvery theory makes assumptions./nGiven those assumptions, that will explain other things, but no theory ever explains its own assumptions./nTherefore, I start with conscious experiences and say I'm going to show you how I can boot up space and time./nThis is interesting because the physicalist approaches are saying grab me space and time and particles, but I can't explain them I have to stipulate the experiences to explain them./nThis is a simpler approach, and therefore, is preferred./nThe possibility of artificial intelligence is around the corner, and, if artificial general intelligence is around the corner, then machines with human level consciousness will be created.
