Understanding Customer Pain Points and Building Relationships with the Tech Team
The key to getting into product development is getting close to the customer, grasping their pain points, and developing a strong relationship with the tech team to solve those pain points. To truly understand customer pain points, one must walk in their shoes, spend significant time with them, and ask the right questions to uncover their needs and challenges. Product managers should avoid asking leading questions and instead focus on understanding what success looks like for the customer and identifying the pain points in their current processes. Additionally, it's essential to observe customers using the product in their environment to identify areas for improvement. Spending time with customers outside the office and actively engaging in their work processes can greatly benefit the product development team.
