When children take initiative and do something on their own, such as making their bed or working out, it's important for parents not to mention it or offer praise. If parents do, the task may become associated with seeking parental approval, rather than being an independent action. This can result in a decrease in the child's initiative. Therefore, it's crucial to leave it as the child's thing, allowing them to own their actions and maintain their initiative.
