Reaching the End of Thought
To find your purpose in life, you must reach the end of thought. Thoughts come from external sources, such as sensory organs and experiences. Advertisers have capitalized on this by bombarding our senses to create brand awareness. If you continue to input external stimuli, your mind will be filled with thoughts. However, if you practice reaching the end of thought, by going for a walk and not feeding your mind with more stimuli, your thoughts will eventually run out and you will experience a period of boredom. Boredom is your mind's way of seeking dopamine and can lead to unhealthy behaviors like binge eating. Eventually, if you persist in reaching the end of thought, you will start to discover your purpose. Meditation can be a helpful shortcut in this process, as it allows you to quiet the mind and listen to the inner voice. Crowdsourcing your purpose through external sources like the internet may not have your best interests at heart.
