NOTE

You get more motivate at math by getting better at math.

Motivation in math is best achieved through improved achievement. A Canadian study shows that motivation does not predict later achievement, but achievement predicts later motivation. Although motivation may play a role, the strong correlation between motivation and achievement suggests that effective teaching methods are key to motivating kids. The argument for non-permanent vertical surfaces as a more motivating approach needs to be supported by evidence of increased motivation in students after six months of using this method. The 'business as usual' approach may be masking true motivation levels, so evidence is needed to support any claims.
