The Tim Ferriss Show

NOTE

Maximizing Muscle Engagement with Slow Negatives

To maximize your workout, it's important to focus on both the positive and negative phases of each exercise. Many people neglect the negative phase, which can lead to an incomplete workout. When you lift a weight, you're not fully taxing the muscle until you slow down the lowering part of the movement. By intentionally slowing down the negative phase, you can push yourself closer to exhaustion and get better results. Remember to perform the positive phase explosively but controlled, and then consciously slow down during the negative phase for the best workout.
