Taking action consistently at a healthy pace is crucial, akin to building a muscle gradually over time. It is important not to give up on oneself, avoid identifying with trauma, or succumb to self-pity and inaction. Instead, focus on strengths, vision, and the commitment to not disappoint oneself. Succumbing to self-disappointment can trigger negative behaviors and internal blame games. When encountering thoughts of victimhood or past harm, it is essential to reflect on any avoidance or anger towards oneself for not meeting personal obligations.
Have you ever struggled to get even basic things done, like get to work on time, put wet laundry in the dryer, or make a phone call? Everyone procrastinates sometimes, but for people who were abused or neglected in childhood, procrastination can take over your life and hold you back. In this four-video compilation I share some of my most powerful videos about CPTSD, productivity and procrastination -- why it happens and what to do.
