I believe there is value in both perspectives on American public education. My solution is to completely transform it by involving students, teachers, families, nonprofits, and businesses. Currently, businesses are not involved in the conversation, but they should be to provide input on necessary skills. It is puzzling why certain progressive and liberal areas have been quick to dismantle programs like STEM and AP classes.
