Terms like machine, human, robot, alive, emergent are viewed as engineering protocol claims rather than objective truths. These terms are considered as mirages reflecting the utility of a particular worldview from a specific perspective. Cognitive systems create models of themselves, where terms like emergence are subjective and based on the observer's surprise. Emergence is not a binary concept but varies based on individual perspectives and predictive abilities. There is no absolute truth in categorizing something as emergent; everything is relative to the observer's viewpoint.
