Initially, you'll need to consciously keep your mouth shut and focus on breathing through your nose. However, if you find yourself needing to open your mouth to breathe, it could indicate that you're exerting a lot of energy and it's necessary to allow your mouth to open. Don't force it shut, but rather find a position where you can regain control of your breathing.
