Self-persuasion: A powerful tool for behavior change

Self-persuasion led to a significant increase in the use of condoms, with more than 60% still using condoms six months later. In contrast, traditional persuasion methods by the Public Health Center had only increased condom use by 2%. This highlights the power of self-persuasion in behavior change. The research also emphasizes the importance of involving individuals in making the argument that they are being persuaded of, as well as being cautious about the arguments made, as the person most likely to be convinced is oneself.
