Leaders who are willing to sacrifice for their employees can boost morale and foster a culture of mutual support. When leaders demonstrate a willingness to sacrifice for the well-being of their team, it inspires others to do the same. This organic display of care and sacrifice creates a collaborative work environment where people support each other. In contrast, a system of layoffs breeds a culture of self-preservation and animosity. Leaders have the power to shape the work environment, and by emulating the care a parent has for a child, they can cultivate a workplace built on empathy and mutual support rather than self-interest.
