Empathy is about truly listening to someone's story without trying to turn the conversation to your own experiences. People with ADHD or autism might struggle with oversharing as a way of relating to others, but it's crucial to recognize that this might not be well received by the other person. Before interjecting with your own story, it's important to acknowledge the other person's experience, show appreciation for it, and express that you're trying to relate, not compete.
