Physiology, Fear, and Control: Power over Pain
Think of pain as a Venn diagram with physiology, fear, and control. Through research, I developed a device called Buzzy that uses vibration and cold to block pain. It started as a solution for needle pain, but I discovered it could also be used for other types of pain, like in knee replacements. Buzzy has helped decrease pain in 45 million needle procedures and has been supported by over 80 randomized controlled trials. It has even replaced opioids for some patients.
