NOTE

Liver Fat Predicts Insulin Resistance

Liver fat is a stronger predictor of insulin resistance compared to muscle fat. While muscle insulin resistance is linked to type two diabetes and overall poor health, the quantitation shows that the real issue lies in the liver. There are three types of insulin resistances: the first originates from general fat, which is usually protective against metabolic diseases, storing excess energy. Subcutaneous fat, where insulin stores energy, can be gained without impacting the rest of the body negatively.
