Streaming Wins, and Consumers Will Take Ads to Cut the Costs
Streaming is seen as the future, with linear cable and satellite viewing declining. Streaming is the dominant media, along with social media on mobile phones. While streaming wins, not all streamers will succeed as it requires significant investment and maintenance. Consumers are willing to tolerate ad interruptions for lower prices because they want access to multiple streaming platforms. Ad-based models will likely become more common among streaming services. However, regulation and antitrust concerns currently prevent platforms like Google and YouTube from acquiring content creators. The power of live events and sports will continue to exist in the streaming world. Eventually, sports will move to streaming. Although existing deals pose a challenge, it is uncertain how long this will play out.
