NOTE

Exploring Responsibility, Freedom, and Loss of Self

We often avoid taking responsibility for our actions by pretending we have little control over our choices. However, the more freedom we have, the more responsibility we hold. Society's newfound freedom can be overwhelming due to the weight of responsibility. Anxiety and choice paralysis can arise from the dizzying array of possibilities. Additionally, experiencing a loss of self can occur through major life changes, like becoming a parent or losing a job. Being inauthentic is different from being lost, as the former involves compromising while still being aware of oneself. Self-loss is akin to being caught in a riptide without knowing which way to swim.
