The Role of Intuition in Decision Making
Intuition should be distinguished from decision making, as most studied intuitions are fallacies of judgment. The advice is not to do without intuition, but to delay it, especially in formal decision making, to avoid prematurely deciding and confirming one's own decision without taking in new information. Delaying intuition allows for continued information gathering and prevents wasted time in confirming preconceived notions.
