Ultra process foods have lots of added ingredients like sugar and fat. These usually have adjectives like artificial colours and flavors, or stabilizers. We're going to dive sort of deep into ultra process foods in another episode. And even here, there's an official sliding scale, isn't there? So you go from minimally processed, like freezing your raspberries to make them last longer.
The word ‘processed’ has become synonymous with being unhealthy. The mainstream media encourages us to detox from processed food or offers us ‘10 easy ways’ to stop eating it.
But nearly everything we consume has undergone some type of processing.
