The Brain's Response to Fear and Goal Pursuit
The brain has two networks, one for stress and fear and one for goal pursuit. They cannot both be active at once. To overcome fear, start taking small actions to activate the goal pursuit network. This is also seen in depression treatment, where engaging in activities helps activate the brain's productive functions. The magnitude of the actions does not matter as long as it activates the goal pursuit network and inhibits the maladaptive rage network.
