Distinguishing Stressors: Noise
Noise stressors are internal thoughts and small stress triggers that do not exist in the real world, such as self-criticism or nagging doubts. Stress can be categorized as external or internal, macro or micro. Trauma is a macro external stressor with a significant impact from outside. On the other hand, noise stressors are considered micro, like constant self-criticisms that gradually build up but do not cause immediate harm.
