When we truly see things as they are, our old ideas of ourselves and the world start to break apart. The early Buddhists called this non-self or egolessness, where we realize that our sense of identity is constructed and made up of different aspects of our experience. Although we still maintain a sense of identity, we understand that it is not fixed or absolute.
