How to Manage an Employee Handbook
Offering everyone treatment as adults and allowing them to come back to work when they're ready is a life milestone. However, from a company perspective, it can be challenging to manage when vital employees take time off. To address this, we implemented an employee handbook that requires employees to specify an expected return date. We understand that this can be flexible, but it helps us plan for coverage. It may be a lot for a startup or non-profit, but in the long run, it's important for employee retention.
