Even in Kim's absence, North Korea continues to test missiles, defying US warnings. Previously, when the US had the confidence and ability to enforce the status quo, people were satisfied. However, China's economic growth did not lead to a liberal society but rather one controlled by the Chinese Communist Party and deeply loyal to Xi Jinping.
