Is it that we sort of have forgotten something because of the modern world or the modern world has made it harder or is it just that there's now people actually looking into this and analyzing things and we know new things?", said the speaker. The speaker quotes George Bernard Shaw, stating that the biggest problem with communication is the illusion that it has taken place. They highlight the importance of listening and introduce the concept of looping for understanding. By asking questions, repeating what the other person said, and confirming understanding, ambiguity in conversations can be reduced. Communication is a complex task, and both listening and speaking effectively require effort.
