Netflix's Introduction of What We Watch report offers unprecedented transparency into viewership
The lack of transparency from streaming services regarding viewership data has been a significant issue. This has led to an unfair advantage in negotiations with talent and has left the industry uncertain about what constitutes a hit. However, Netflix has announced the introduction of the What We Watch report, which will release full viewership data for content generating more than 50,000 hours of viewing twice a year. This report will cover 99% of viewership, including over 18,000 titles from January to June of the year. The move towards transparency has been well received, especially by industry professionals and viewers alike.
