The human mind is naturally blank and living in the moment when we are born, but as we grow, desire and long-range planning develop, leading to excessive thinking, building an identity, and ego. This constant internal dialogue and playing of movies in our heads pull us away from reality and hinder our happiness. To counteract this, we should view the mind as a servant rather than a master, and deliberately cultivate experiences, mindsets, and activities that help us break the habit of uncontrolled thinking. Seeking flow states and engaging in activities that take us away from our own thoughts can facilitate this process. By weakening our sense of self and living more in the present, we can find happiness in accepting the world for what it is.
