The Relationship Between Overtraining Syndrome and Sports

During my PhD, I discovered that cyclists can be pushed to extreme fatigue without getting injured, unlike runners. In sports with a lot of contact, such as running or football, injuries and illnesses are common as the body's way of preventing overtraining. However, sports like cycling and swimming, where there is less contact and eccentric movement, allow athletes to push themselves to the limit.
