NOTE

Teaching Jujitsu: Prioritizing People over Belt Color

Emphasizing the importance of prioritizing people over belt color in teaching jujitsu. It is more crucial for instructors to connect with students on a human level, empathize with their struggles and fears, rather than focusing solely on their accolades or belt color. Success in running training centers is not limited to black belts; purple and brown belts have proven to be successful leaders, often with more empathy towards students due to their recent experience as white belts. The key to successful leadership lies in putting people first, as demonstrated by the significant number of schools run by non-black belts and their high student enrollment levels. When a white belt joins a BJJ school, they value what the instructor can do for them over what the instructor can do to them, highlighting the importance of prioritizing the students' needs over personal achievements. A great leader is defined by their ability to make others feel important rather than making themselves look important.
