Sodium Intake Guidance

The recommended sodium intake is around 100 to 120 milligrams per liter, with a minimum of 40 millimole per liter. Exceeding 360 milligrams per liter indicates a high sodium state. Contrary to common belief, it is not necessary to replace all lost sodium when sweating, as the body can tolerate losing up to 50% of sodium stores without adverse effects due to efficient water transportation within the body.
