Whole body workouts can be an excellent choice for many, including some competitive bodybuilders, despite the common preference for split routines. While competitive bodybuilders often require specific techniques and warming up times that make full-body sessions challenging, they still can benefit from whole body routines in certain instances. The key factors that should influence the choice between whole body workouts and splits are muscle stimulation, volume, and frequency. Muscles need adequate stimulation, which can be achieved through either consistent whole-body training multiple times a week or focused split sessions that provide greater volume on select days. Generally, training a muscle group two to six times per week allows for effective muscle development, paving the way for optimal bodybuilding results.
