Ironically, humans themselves exhibit automatic behaviors in their cognitive activities but strive to be more present. The reinforcement learning aspects of chat GPT lead to annoying conversation styles, as users unintentionally reinforce undesirable prose while attempting to improve conversation length and topics. Despite the desire for more engaging interactions, efforts to align chat GPT behavior inadvertently strengthen undesired conversation styles.
