Diet Impact on Mortality and Cardiovascular Health
A high carbohydrate diet was associated with higher mortality risk while diets high in saturated fat did not show the same correlation. Consuming three to four portions of fruits and vegetables daily was found to be adequate for cardiovascular health. Although this data is based on a cross-sectional study, it aligns with the notion that there might be excessive focus on reducing fat in the diet.
