How to Eat Fiber

The formula for daily fiber intake is 14 grams of fiber per 1000 calories. However, most Americans do not meet this requirement. Eating a variety of plant-based foods rich in fiber, such as sweet potatoes, avocados, and beans, can help. It is not necessary for the average person to obsessively track fiber intake. Soluble and insoluble fiber can be confusing, but focusing on a diverse range of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes can help meet fiber goals.
