In life, there are only a few things you can truly control. Most situations have factors that you can influence. For example, if bad weather prevents you from using helicopters for a mission, you can plan for alternative transportation. There are some things, like your daughter getting leukemia, that you have no control over. But you can control how you respond to those situations. Focusing on what you can't control will only drive you crazy. It's important to identify what you can control and let go of the rest. For instance, in a competition, make a list of things within your control, such as your warm-up, nutrition, and equipment.
