NOTE

The Importance of Omega Three Fatty Acids from Marine Sources

Omega-3 fatty acids, specifically EPA and DHA found in marine sources like fish, are crucial for our health. A study found that not consuming enough omega-3s from marine sources led to 84,000 deaths per year, comparable to trans fats. However, unlike trans fats, it's not widely discussed or labeled in supermarkets. Additionally, the common plant-based omega-3 source, ALA, is inefficiently converted into EPA and DHA in our bodies due to genetic differences. Moreover, consuming excessive vegetable oils high in omega-6 fatty acids can further hinder this conversion. It's important to prioritize marine sources of omega-3s for optimal health.
