Memory is a reconstruction influenced by the present perspective. The present frame changes how past events are perceived, causing the meaning of the past to be affected by the present rather than vice versa. When new information or perspectives are gained, they automatically reframe the entire past. Therefore, memories reflect the current self's frame, showing that one's perception of the past is a product of their present self.
