The Memory and Aging Project studies individuals over time, some of whom donate their brains after death. By examining their brains, researchers can observe beta amyloid plaques and tangles associated with Alzheimer's disease. Berries and leafy green vegetables are linked to lower levels of these markers, while saturated fats, fried foods, and sugars are associated with higher levels.
