Transition periods in dieting, whether starting a caloric deficit or moving to a surplus, should be treated with caution since initial weight changes can be misleading due to fluctuations in glycogen levels and food volume. It's advisable to allow a stabilization period of a couple of weeks before making any adjustments based on weight metrics. In fat loss phases, those increasing their intake of fruits and vegetables may not experience the typical initial weight loss drops commonly seen, as the added food volume can conceal early fluctuations on the scale.
