NOTE

**Defining Consciousness Simply, why it’s irreducible **

Consciousness is that with which our experiences are known, within which everything appears, and out of which everything is made. Another formulation is that consciousness is that whose excitations are experiences, referring to phenomenal consciousness without necessitating higher-level mental functions. Consciousness is fundamental and cannot be explained in terms of something else because at some point, reality has a rock-bottom and consciousness is considered that rock-bottom.
