The Red Queen's Arms Race
There's an almost red queen effect going on, where you have to do something to maintain and constantly update just to stay in the same relative position. So i think it's probably a sign of a very healthy mental process if you are able to create and sustain a red queen's arms race between sort of your mindful engagement of external reality data and kind of your eyes shut process. This is what I call 'the two by two approach' - engaged thinking and good verses bad.
