The best investor meetings are those where investors like Mike Renal at Sequoia and Jeff Jordan at Andreessen Horowitz thoroughly read and engage with the material shared in advance. Sending materials ahead of time helps filter out investors who may not be genuinely interested, saving time on repetitive questions and allowing more meaningful discussions with well-prepared investors. Early meetings, however, might be an exception as sending materials in advance could lead investors to search for reasons to say no.
