NOTE

Shifting Values, Isolation, and the Impact on Society

The society needs to shift its values from acquiring more material possessions to fostering greater creativity and problem-solving. Social interaction is crucial for returning to a state of calm and safety, and the pervasive sense of isolation and loneliness has been steadily increasing over the years, making it difficult for people to hit the reset button. The societal trend towards larger, more isolated homes has contributed to this issue. Additionally, there's a stark contrast between risk of abuse in rural versus urban communities, with the latter providing more surveillance and support. Furthermore, the intergenerational trauma that individuals carry affects their interactions and sense of tentativeness towards others, leading to challenges in forming connections. Overall, these factors have a deep impact on society's well-being and functioning.
