People with those characteristics ought to do the treatment ecause it would be effective for them. They've got people cheering em on in their family, that brings in that whole x factor of positive mood and social support. If we could isolate that sub group and just study that sub group compared to a control group, we might get statistical significance. So i think it's really important to can beware of this and to push past the scientistic mumbo jumbo who are actually deeply unscientific.

One of the most important skills we can develop is learning how to learn–how to update old beliefs about ourselves, take in new information, and build psychological resources like courage, gratitude, and confidence. We have experiences from which we could potentially learn all the time, but how often are we able to actually implement lasting change from our positive experiences?
